Gather evidence about the need for improvement, which may be data from a number of places. Data is great for proving or disproving anecdotes, e.g “This is a big problem!” Using data allows us to visualise how much, how often and when something happens (and for how long it has been happening). If you don’t have any data yet, just keep it simple and count the basics.
