Speak up – we’re listening

October is Speak Up Month – a great opportunity to reflect on the importance of speaking up and the options available to do this.

To mark this celebratory month, throughout October, our Freedom to Speak Up Guardians will be hosting events, sharing film clips, advice and information about how the service works. The team will also be available to speak with staff at information stands at the New Victoria Wing in the RVI, between 12 and 2pm on 17 and 21 October.

At Newcastle, we want to ensure staff feel confident to raise concerns and trust they will be listened to. We want colleagues to feel safe and free from any negative repercussions in being open and honest with us.

Speaking up enhances working life and improves the quality and safety of care.

If colleagues would like to report concerns or raise issues, they can use our anonymous dialogue system ‘Speak in Confidence’. Alternatively they can contact our Freedom to Speak Up Guardian Andy Pike, by email [email protected]
