From Shine Rewards to training and champions – there are so many ways that you can make a difference to sustainability in healthcare.

There are a number of training and educational offers available from Greener NHS, other external providers and our own Advanced Programme for Sustainability Ambassadors.

We want to embed active, clean and low carbon travel to improve air quality and reduce carbon emissions

Green spaces provide patients, staff and the wider community with the opportunity to get outdoors and take part in activities that help our natural environment – from beach cleans and tree planting, to nature walks and restoring habitats.

We aim to embed sustainability and support for climate emergency action into all purchasing decisions, working towards a net zero carbon supply chain.

Newcastle Hospitals are partners in an exciting project to develop and implement a model of care so that a first generation of children in over a century can be born free of plastic pollution and toxic chemicals.
