Mental Wellbeing
Around 1 in 4 people experience poor mental health each year, so most of us will know someone who has struggled with this. Here at Newcastle Hospitals we encourage staff to talk openly around mental health and to reach out for support whenever it is needed.

Nutrition
Getting your 5-a-day and staying hydrated can be hard, but here at Newcastle Hospitals we are always looking at ways to make it easier for staff to make healthier choices.
-
Physical Wellbeing
We know that our staff lead extremely busy lives so our aim is to help them, as much as possible, to make healthy choices while they are at work. We have an extensive health and wellbeing programme to encourage staff to lead a more active lifestyle.
-
Sleep well
At Newcastle Hospitals, we are currently doing lots of work around how we can reduce the risks associated with tiredness, particularly during night shifts.
-
Financial Wellbeing
At Newcastle Hospitals, we know that financial worries can affect anyone. To help, we have a number of ways that our staff can access financial support and special offers or discounts.
-
Project Menopause
The aim of project menopause is to create an environment where staff can talk about menopause and its effects openly, providing information, guidance and support for those directly and indirectly experiencing symptoms of the menopause.

Become a Health Champion
Flourish Health Champions (FHCs) play an integral part in shaping the health and wellbeing offer of the Trust. We need FHCs to help communicate messages and health campaigns to all levels of staff, obtain feedback, and gather suggestions for future campaigns and activities.
